  • Reduce fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth
  • Treat wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging
  • Improve the appearance of mild scars

HIV AND AIDS

What Is AIDS?

AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. AIDS is the most advanced stage of HIV infection.
HIV causes AIDS by attacking CD4 cells, which the immune system uses to protect the body from disease. When the immune system loses too many CD4 cells, you are less able to fight off infection and can develop serious, often deadly, infections. These are called oppurtunistic infections(OIs).
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIV AND AIDS?
When someone dies of AIDS, it is usually OIs or other long-term effects of HIV that cause death. AIDS refers to the weakened state of the body’s immune system that can no longer stop opportunistic infections.
You do not have AIDS as soon as you are infected with HIV. You can live with HIV (be HIV+) for many years with no signs of disease, or only mild-to-moderate symptoms. People living with HIV and taking HIV drugs as prescribed have a very low risk of progressing to AIDS. But without treatment, HIV will eventually wear down the immune system in most people to the point that they have low numbers of CD4 cells and develop opportunistic infections. Without treatment, this usually happens in five to ten years.
The definition of AIDS was established before there was effective treatment for HIV. It indicated that a person was at higher risk for illness or death. In countries where HIV treatment is readily available, AIDS is no longer as relevant as it once was. This is because having access to effective treatment means people can stay healthier even with low CD4 counts. Also, someone could have received the AIDS diagnosis years ago even though they no longer have a low CD4.

PSORIASIS

Psoriasis is a chronic disease. It develops when a person’s immune system sends faulty signals that tell skin cells to grow too quickly. New skin cells form in days rather than weeks.
The body does not shed these excess skin cells. The skin cells pile up on the surface of the skin, causing patches of psoriasis to appear. Psoriasis may look contagious, but it's not.
You cannot get psoriasis from touching someone who has it. To get psoriasis, a person must inherit the genes that cause it.
Types of psoriasis
If you have psoriasis, you will have one or more of these types:
  • Plaque (also called psoriasis vulgaris).
  • Guttate.
  • Inverse (also called flexural psoriasis or intertriginous psoriasis).
  • Pustular.
  • Erythrodermic (also called exfoliative psoriasis).
Some people get more than one type. Sometimes a person gets one type of psoriasis, and then the type of psoriasis changes.
Its treatment depends on chronicity, severity, types, also patient's age, lifestyle also play an important role in its treatment. For appointments call 9004839333 to visit our clinics at Malad,Juhu and Bandra.

DANDRUFF

For most teens and adults, dandruff symptoms are easy to spot: white, oily-looking flakes of dead skin that dot your hair and shoulders, and a possibly itchy, scaly scalp. The condition may worsen during the fall and winter, when indoor heating can contribute to dry skin, and improve during the summer.
Almost anyone can have dandruff, but certain factors can make you more susceptible:
  • Age. Dandruff usually begins in young adulthood and continues through middle age. That doesn't mean older adults don't get dandruff. For some people, the problem can be lifelong.
  • Being male. Because more men have dandruff, some researchers think male hormones may play a role.
  • Oily hair and scalp. Malassezia feeds on oils in your scalp. For that reason, having excessively oily skin and hair makes you more prone to dandruff.
  • Certain illnesses. For reasons that aren't clear, adults with neurological diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, are more likely to develop seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff. So are people with HIV infection, or those who have compromised immune systems from other conditions.

SKIN TAGS
Skin tags are invariably benign - non cancerous - tumors of the skin which cause no symptoms, unless it is repeatedly rubbed or scratched, as may happen with clothing, jewelry, or when shaving. Very large skin tags may burst under pressure.

Skin tags are benign, asymptomatic skin tumors, often raised from the skin on fleshy peduncles.
Skin tags are composed of a core of fibers and ducts, nerve cells, fat cells, and a covering or epidermis.
Some people inherit an increased susceptibility to skin tags, and being obese or overweight also appears to increase the likelihood of developing this skin anomaly. Skin tags affect people of all genders equally, but are more likely to occur in people who are pregnant and/or who have diabetes.

PIMPLES
Pimples on face occur in people of different ages. It is not just the problem faced by most teenagers, but adults as well, which really make them feel annoyed.  Skin pimples must not be treated harshly and instead, these must be soothed to prevent scars.
The worst part of having pimples that are not removed properly is having pimple scars. As much as possible, avoid doing unnecessary actions to your pimples while they do not heal or dry yet.  After you search for home remedies for pimples, there you are looking for some tips to keep your face flawless. Here are the suggested ways to prevent your face from having pimple scars:
Never Prick at Your Pimples
Pricking or pressing your pimples can be very tempting, but it should be avoided as much as possible.  If you squeeze the unsightly pimples on face, there is a big possibility that it will cause serious scarring, inflammation and infection.
Chemical Peeling
This method enhances your skin appearance and lightens pimple scars. It works by simply removing the top layer of the skin. Glycolic acid is the main active ingredient found in various chemical peels.
Enough Rest and Plenty of Water
Water eliminates the toxins going throughout your body while enough rest or sleep lets your body heal and improve your overall skin health.

ACNES

Acne is a long-term skin disease that occurs when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin.Acne is characterized by areas of blackheads, white heads or pimples, greasy skin, and possible scarring. The resulting appearance can lead to anxiety reduced self esteem and in extreme cases depression.
Genetics is thought to be the cause of acne in 80% of cases.Acne primarily affects areas of skin with a relatively high number of oil glands, including the face, upper part of the chest, and back.During puberty, in both sexes, acne is often brought on by an increase in hormones such as testerone.
TIPS FOR PREVENTING ACNES:
KEEP YOUR SKIN CLEAN-Whether or not you have acne, it’s important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin’s surface. Washing more often than twice daily is not necessarily better; it may do more harm than good. Use warm, not hot, water and a mild facial cleanser. Using a harsh soap (like deodorant body soap) can hurt the already inflamed skin and cause more irritation.Avoid scrubbing your skin harshly with a washcloth, an exfoliating glove, or loofah (a coarse-textured sponge). Gently wash it with  a very soft cloth or your hands. Always rinse well, and then dry your face with a clean towel.  Also, use the washcloth only once.
MOISTURIZE- Many acne products contain ingredients that dry the skin, so always use a moisturizer that minimizes dryness and skin peeling. Look for “noncomedogenic” on the label, which means it should not cause acne. There are moisturizers made for oily, dry, or combination skin.
WATCH  WHAT YOU PUT ON YOUR HAIR-Avoid using fragrances, oils, pomades, or gels on your hair. If they get on your face, they can block your skin’s pores and irritate your skin. Use a gentle shampoo and conditioner. Oily hair can add to the oil on your face, so wash your hair often, especially if you’re breaking out. Got long hair? Keep it pulled away from your face.
